FOUNDED IN 2016, EXCEL DANCE COMPANY IS ONE OF NORTHERN IRELAND’S MOST REPUTABLE DANCE AND PERFORMING ARTS SCHOOLS.
Under the direction of our Creative Directors, Lynda Spiers and Brooke Porter, all of our students
receive first class training from highly experienced and qualified teachers, in a safe and
encouraging environment. All classes take place in our purpose-built studios in Newtownards.`
We’re dedicated to help your child
DISCOVER DANCE
Students can attend classes from the age of 15 months old and upwards. They may choose recreational classes for fun, or choose to take graded examinations in preparation for college auditions, higher education, or a career in dance and performing arts.
All students have the opportunity to participate in open days and perform in two annual showcases in term one and term three. Students also have the opportunity to compete in festivals and competitions.

How we can help your child grow
EXAMINATIONS
We offer graded examinations to all students in Classical Ballet, Tap, Modern Jazz, Acrobatics, Lyrical, Contemporary and Musical Theatre.
All exams are regulated by the Graded Qualifications Alliance (GQAL). Higher examinations are equivalent in skills and understanding to that of GCSEs and A levels, attracting UCAS points, and are recognised by Universities.
COMPETITION TROUPE
Competition work is offered in all subjects, in the form of solos, duets, trios, quads and troupes. Excel Dance Company compete in many local and national competitions.
We have also recently represented Northern Ireland at the Dance World Cup (2024), receiving many Top 6 world rankings.
PRIVATE TUITION
Teaching staff can be booked for private tuition.
We offer private tuition for examination work, competition choreography, or simply to work with a student on a specific skill or technical element.
